If I Get Carers Allowance will it affect the benefits of the person I care for?

Possibly - it all depends on what benefits they get.

If they get a Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance or Constant Attendance Allowance, then they won't be affected if you claim a Carers Allowance. However, if they receiving extra money for a severe disbality with an income related benefit or a pension credit, then this extra money will stop if you are paid a Carers Allowance to look after them.

You should ask about this when you apply for the Allowance to see if this might affect your decision to claim.
