Do I Meet the Requirements to Claim the Care and Supervision Part of the Disability Living Allowance?

Answer: You will qualify for the Care and Supervision Part of the Disablilty Living Allowance if you meet all of the following requirements:

  1. You have a physical or mental disability.
  2. Your disbality is severe enough for you to need help caring for yourself, or someone to supervise you, to make sure you do not endanger yourself for what most people would consider normal daily activities (e.g. Washing, eating or using the bathroom).
  3. You are under 65 when you claim.

You will also qualify if:

  • you need help with Dialysis at home or in a Minimum Care Unit at least twice a week where you do not recieve help from hospital staff.
  • ou are severely mentally impaired with severe behavioural problems and need help with personal care day and night.
